Gold Coast SUNS Academy players, Jack Bowes and Brad Scheer, will live out every young footballer's dream when they run out onto the hallowed MCG turf on AFL Grand Final day.

On Monday, the AFL announced the NAB AFL All Stars Match will once again be held as a curtain-raiser to the AFL Grand Final.

The exhibition game will feature some of the best young talent in the country, including two of the Gold Coast SUNS’ Academy’s young guns in Bowes and Scheer.

The rest of the squad members have also been selected from the NAB AFL Academy – Level Two program.

The NAB AFL Academy is a key component of the AFL Rising Stars Program that seeks to develop future generations of AFL stars.

Bowes and Scheer will line up for the Australian U-17 Team set to take on the Allies - which consists of the best players from NSW/ACT, the Northern Territory, Queensland and Tasmania, all of whom are eligible for this year’s Draft.

The Australian Under-17 Team consists of players eligible for the 2016 NAB AFL Draft.

GC SUNS Talent Academy Manager – Jason Torney, congratulated Bowes and Scheer on their re-selection to the NAB AFL Academy program.

“It’s a tremendous achievement for Jack and Brad, and a further accolade for the SUNS’ talent academy,” Torney said.

“Despite both players having had to battle through injury-interrupted campaigns, Jack and Brad turned in a series of impressive performances for the premiership-winning Under 18 Queensland team this season.

“With a vision to be a vehicle for Queensland talent, the GC SUNS Talent Academy continues to work towards providing a real pathway for state junior players to strive towards a possible AFL career.”

Former Adelaide Crows senior coach Brenton Sanderson will coach the NAB AFL Academy, while 231-game AFL veteran and now Queensland U18 coach Adrian Fletcher will mentor the Allies.

The NAB AFL All Stars match will be played for the Kevin Sheehan Trophy and the player voted best on the day will be presented with the NAB Best on Ground Medal.
