The Gold Coast SUNS have made two changes ahead of the clash against Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

As revealed earlier on goldcoastfc.com.au, 2014 Club Champion David Swallow will play his first AFL game in 630 days after being passed fit to take on the Giants.

Meantime, tall defender Jack Leslie will add to his six career games with the SUNS looking to bolster their backline to contend with the threat of the Giants potent attack. With quality talls in Jeremy Cameron, Rory Lobb and Jonathan Patton mixed with dangerous small forwards in Steve Johnson, Toby Greene and Devon Smith, Gold Coast’s back six will need to be at their absolute best for the side to beat GWS.

Coach Rodney Eade believes the game will be won and lost in the midfield, with a tantalising battle on the cards between the engine rooms of the two expansion sides.

Missing from Gold Coast’s round one team are Pearce Hanley, who is in Ireland on compassionate leave, and Josh Schoenfeld with the young West Australian omitted from Eade’s senior 22.
