Saturday’s game against St Kilda is a crucial one for Gold Coast and at least two changes will need to be made to the side.

Michael Barlow comes out of the team after suffering a fractured fibula, while wingman Matt Rosa will miss the Saints clash due to suspension.

There’s a number of players putting their hand up for senior selection as the SUNS look to bounce back from last week’s loss to Carlton.

Experienced defender Jarrod Harbrow has completed his club-imposed two-week suspension and is available for selection.

As confirmed in the Optomo Injury Report, Touk Miller is on track for a return after missing the last two games.

Young forward Callum Ah Chee is also ready to return after recovering from lingering back and hamstring issues.

The loss of two experienced players could be offset by the return of Michael Rischitelli, who recently returned from an ACL injury.

The veteran midfielder has only played half a game at NEAFL level since returning and might need more game time under his belt before coming back into the senior team.

With Barlow being placed on the long-term injury list, the SUNS Match Committee also have the option of upgrading a rookie-listed player.

If they go down that path, Darcy Macpherson and Ryan Davis loom as the most likely options.

Macpherson has been in scintillating form for the NEAFL team, being named in the best on a number of occasions.

Should Davis be preferred, he would offer an older head with the ability to play forward or across half back as he has done at NEAFL level.
