Gold Coast captain Tom Lynch will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his PCL (posterior cruciate ligament).

Lynch injured his knee during Saturday night's match against Fremantle at Domain Stadium.

General Manager Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft said it was too early to confirm a return date for Lynch.

"The results of Tom's scan have confirmed damage to his PCL,” Ashcroft said.

“Usual circumstances would see Tom miss about a month of footy with the injury but with just three matches remaining Tom won’t return this season.

A full Optomo Injury Report will be released on goldcoastfc.com.au Wednesday morning.
