Monday night’s Brownlow Medal count saw Hawk Tom Mitchell win the AFL’s most coveted award for the first time. The team at goldcoastfc.com.au have gone through all the votes and revealed where each SUN received their votes.
 

Round 1 v North Melbourne:

3 votes – Jarrod Harbrow

2 votes – Touk Miller

In what was a wet and wild affair at Cairns’ Cazalys Stadium, the SUNS kicked their season and new era under Stuart Dew off with a win. Cairns local Jarrod Harbrow polled maximum votes for his work off half-back and Touk Miller received two votes in the midfield.

 

Round 2 v Carlton:

3 votes – Tom Lynch

2 votes – Jarryd Lyons 

Tom Lynch kicked a career-high eight goals to receive the three votes against Carlton while Jarryd Lyons received two votes after a prolific display in the midfield.

 

Round 3 v Fremantle:

1 vote – Jack Martin 

Despite a hefty defeat to Fremantle, Jack Martin still managed to snag one vote for his performance in the forward line.

 

Round 5 v Brisbane Lions:

3 votes – Brayden Fiorini

2 votes – Touk Miller

Brayden Fiorini was outstanding in the QClash, winning plenty of the ball to poll a perfect three votes while Touk Miller’s starring role in shutting down Dayne Zorko didn’t go unnoticed with the midfielder receiving another two votes.

 

Round 6 v Adelaide Crows:

2 votes – David Swallow

It wasn’t a great night for the SUNS, but David Swallow never stopped trying and kicked three goals amongst 32 disposals to earn the two votes.

 

Round 7 v Western Bulldogs:

1 vote – Jarrod Witts

Witts had 58 hit-outs and 21 disposals in the tight loss to the Bulldogs in Ballarat earning him one Brownlow vote.

 

Round 9 v Port Adelaide:

1 vote – Jarrod Witts 

Witts was once again solid in Round 9 against Port Adelaide in China. He managed 43 hit-outs, 22 disposals and kicked his first goal of the season to poll the one vote.

 

Round 13 v St Kilda:

2 votes – Tom Lynch

Lynch had 16 disposals and three goals in the tight match against St Kilda, earning two votes in the process.

 

Round 18 v Sydney Swans:

3 votes – Lachie Weller

2 votes – Aaron Young

1 vote – Steven May

The SUNS’ drought-breaking win over Sydney saw three Gold Coast players poll in the Brownlow votes. Lachie Weller claimed his first three-vote performance with his two inspiring goals from outside 50m while Aaron Young’s four goals and Steven May’s 14 marks earnt them two and one votes respectively.

 

Round 22 v Brisbane Lions:

2 votes – Brayden Fiorini

1 vote - Alex Sexton

Another thrilling QClash saw Brayden Fiorini poll once again with two votes while Alex Sexton also claimed his first Brownlow vote in the loss.
