The next three weeks loom as make-or-break for Gold Coast's season.

Following Saturday night's 48-point loss against Adelaide, the SUNS sit in 13th place with a 3-3 record.

Before their mid-season bye in round 10, the SUNS play the Western Bulldogs (Ballarat), Melbourne (the Gabba) and Port Adelaide (Shanghai) in the next three weeks.

Gold Coast will then play its first match of the season at Metricon Stadium on June 2 against Geelong, starting a string of seven of its final 13 games at home.

Midfielder Jesse Lonergan said the SUNS were keeping things in perspective after losing at the weekend.

"We've got a tough block coming up," he said.

"(Starting with) the Bulldogs this week, they had a good win against Carlton last Friday night and they're a high-pressure, contested-ball side and that's what we need to bring to the table.

"We are three and three, and if we win we're four and three, which is a good spot to be in.

"The losses we have had have been big margins, so we just need to be more competitive."

The Crows blew Gold Coast away in the opening half, leading by 45 points at the main break before the SUNS showed some life.

It is a trend that has dogged them in losses to Fremantle, West Coast and Adelaide, and ruckman Jarrod Witts said it was something they would have to arrest to beat the Bulldogs.

"Looking back on it, it's a concern if we're down by a fair margin at half-time," he said.

"We've got to get back to playing our high-pressure game, being smart around the ball and cleaner and being effective

"The Bulldogs are really good in tight, so again it's a good challenge for us in that contested ball and pressure side of things."

After seven weeks at nearby Bond University as a temporary base, the SUNS returned to their Metricon Stadium training and administration centre on Monday.
