It might have been Gary Ablett’s 300th game, plus captain Steven May’s 100th, however it was midfielder Jarryd Lyons who starred.

The former Crow had a career-high 39 disposals to earn himself a midfield spot in AFL.com.au’s Team of the Week.

His work at the coalface resulted in 23 contested possessions and ten clearances, with his work in tight freeing up the other SUNS midfielders.

Lyons was among the top tacklers for Gold Coast, finishing with six for the game.

With seven inside 50s and a goal assist, the midfielder was also effective going forward.

After joining the SUNS during the off-season, Lyons looks to be hitting top form as the season progresses which is good news for SUNS fans.
