A number of reinforcements could be available for the Gold Coast SUNS’ round nine clash against Adelaide at Metricon Stadium this Saturday.

Dan Currie, Rory Thompson and Peter Wright are all in line to reclaim their places if they can get through Thursday’s main training session, according to this week’s Optomo Injury Update.

Clay Cameron and Michael Rischitelli are also listed at tests, but are racing against the clock to prove their fitness for this week’s game.

The SUNS reserves featured just nine-listed players last week against the Giants in Sydney. Two of those are rookies who are unavailable for senior selection without adjustments to the club’s long-term injury list, while Danny Stanley suffered a hamstring injury and will likely miss the next month of footy.

Luke Russell had 33 disposals, nine tackles and eight inside 50s, but will need to pass a test at Thursday’s main training session to be available for Saturday.

Mature-aged rookie Ryan Davis finished with 22 disposals, 11 tackles and a couple of goals while Seb Tape had 21 touches for the SUNS.

Mackenzie Willis (16 disposals) and Jarrod Garlett (14 disposals and one goal) may also come under consideration.

Josh Schoenfeld had 18 touches in the reserves but left Sydney in a moon boot and will be another fitness test for this Saturday.
