goldcoastfc.com.au has analysed your votes in the 2016 Fans Player of the Year award to project which players are potentially leading the race in the Gold Coast SUNS club champion award this season.

Tom Lynch (13 votes - 3|2|3|2|3)

The emerging key forward has had a tremendous season to date, kicking 35 goals in 11 games and claiming three best-on-grounds.

While supply from the midfield has dried up over recent weeks, Lynch should be right at the top of the leaderboard as he looks to claim back-to-back club champion awards and a third straight podium finish.

Aaron Hall (12 votes - 3|1|3|2|1|2)

The Tasmanian started his 2016 season in blistering fashion, with outstanding performances in both the round one win over Essendon and the round three win over Carlton.

Hall had nine votes after four rounds and was averaging 33.5 disposals per game, but hasn’t been at his prolific best for a couple of weeks.

Gary Ablett (10 votes - 2|1|1|2|3|1)

The skipper has taken time to find his feet, claiming his first best-on-ground performance in the round 10 loss to West Coast.

While he hasn’t been as dominant as previous years, Ablett is still averaging 27 disposals (12 contested) and 6.5 tackles per game and should only get better in the second half of the season.

Dion Prestia (9 votes - 1|3|1|1|1|2)

Ball-magnet Prestia has been consistent in 2016, polling in six of the 10 games he has played and only registering one sub-20 possession game.

Jesse Lonergan (6 votes - 3|3)

Lonergan registered back-to-back best-on-grounds for the SUNS in the losses to GWS and Adelaide to lead the second tier of contenders but will need to find more consistency if he’s to reach the upper bracket.
