The national draft is just over two weeks away and drawing closer by the day.

At this point in time, Gold Coast SUNS list manager Scott Clayton believes he could list ten names that he and his recruiting team will select with their four picks on draft night.

After a busy trade exchange period, Gold Coast hold picks No. 6, No. 16, No. 29 and No. 56.

Two picks in the first round ensures the SUNS sit in a strong position on draft night, and given pick No. 29 acquired Touk Miller in last year’s edition, it could be become a good omen.

“We’re close, we’ve certainly been doing a mountain of work over the last little bit,” Clayton told Melbourne radio station SEN on Monday morning.

“Because as you know the combine was a little later than normal, so all that information has been coming in. We’ve been doing reference checks and character checks.

“We’ve got four picks and we think we could probably give you ten names that would nail our four picks, so we’re getting close to working out which way we go.”
