The Gold Coast SUNS have been outclassed by Sydney at the SCG on Saturday night, the Swans running out 63-point winners.

The home side looked set for a cricket score against the SUNS after booting six goals to none in the opening term to open up a 37-point buffer.

Gold Coast rallied in the second quarter and kicked six goals of their own with big forwards Charlie Dixon and Tom Lynch finally getting their hands on the footy, but they still trailed by 22 points at the half time break.

The SUNS' brave effort to stay in touch fell away in the final term with the Swans dominating with eight goals to two in front of 25,424 fans.

Josh Kennedy, Tom Mitchell and Dan Hannebery – despite close attention from Gold Coast youngster Touk Miller – again found plenty of ball through the midfield, with tall targets Sam Reid and Kurt Tippett the beneficiaries.

Aaron Hall was busy for the visitors in another encouraging performance, while classy youngsters Jack Martin, Jarrod Garlett and Kade Kolodjashni showed glimpses in a positive sign looking towards the 2016 season.

Gold Coast defender Greg Broughton's final match was one to forget, with the former Docker subbed out of the game before quarter-time with a leg injury.
