To celebrate his two-year contract extension with the Gold Coast SUNS, ruckman Tom Nicholls was given control of the club's Instagram account yesterday for what was deemed #TNichsTakeover.

Nicholls posted nine images throughout the day which gained over 8,500 likes on the social network. It was his light-hearted "Breaking News - Gaz To Play" post that generated the most interest, drawing over 400 comments and sending the internet into a frenzy with many believing the GC SUNS skipper had made a miraculous recovery and was fit to take on Port Adelaide.

The 22-year-old ruckman scuttled hopes of Ablett's comeback a couple of hours later with a meme of Will Ferrell in Anchorman captioned with "well that escalated quickly."
