Following Saturday night’s game, David Swallow was the only Gold Coast player to receive votes in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award for round six.

Both Stuart Dew and his Crows counterpart Don Pyke awarded maximum votes to Adelaide’s Wayne Milera.

Swallow received five votes for his 32 disposal, three goal performance against the Crows.

The midfielder had a real appetite for the contest with four tackles and four clearances, while also adding to his outside game as he gathered 22 uncontested possessions.

Hawthorn midfielder Tom Mitchell sits at the top of the leaderboard after six rounds, ahead of Collingwood’s Steele Sidebottom, Melbourne ruckman Max Gawn and last year’s Brownlow Medallist Dustin Martin.
