Gold Coast SUNS List Manger Scott Clayton has declared the club will secure the best possible deals in exchange for Harley Bennell and Charlie Dixon.

"In both scenarios, we will do the best deal we possibly can for the Gold Coast Football Club," Clayton said.

Clayton believes the 2015 season has been the club's most beneficial yet.

"Reflecting on 2015, we think it will be the most defining year in our short history. We are closer to the success we desire today, than we were 12 months ago.

Clayton confirmed the SUNS would approach the exchange period knowing exactly where the club's playing list is at.

"We are approaching this year’s exchange period in a fashion that reflects where we know we are as a team. We are a team that is on the verge of entering a successful period," he said.

"From a list perspective, any club can make easy decisions, we’ve made the hard, yet the right decisions that will shape our football club going forward.

"And importantly, our players stood with us as we made the tough list management decisions for future success," Clayton said.

Clayton admitted the club had achieved a lot from a list perspective in 2015.

"Eleven players, that’s a third of our current playing list moving into 2016, have recommitted to the club in 2015.

"We have re-contracted every player we set out to sign, and have a group that craves success on the Gold Coast," Clayton added.

Clayton said the SUNS will head to the exchange period with significant momentum.

"On-field we all saw the horror run of injuries we had, and we have addressed that but signing Justin Cordy, one of the best physical performance managers in the game.

"What gives us great confidence is that in the second half of the year, despite all the injuries, we comprehensively defeated North Melbourne, drew with West Coast and took it right up to Fremantle, falling just seven points short. That's three of the four preliminary finals teams," Clayton added.
