The Gold Coast SUNS have been forced to make two late changes to the selected side to face West Coast at Domain Stadium on Saturday night.

Key forward Tom Lynch has failed in his bid to get up for the clash against the Eagles, with a calf issue ruling him out of the game. Midfielder Luke Russell has also been withdrawn from the line-up due to illness.

Greg Broughton and Mitch Hallahan have replaced the pair in Rodney Eade’s side after travelling across to Perth as emergencies.

Lynch is not expected to be sidelined for more than this weekend with the injury, with Gold Coast GM - Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft, confident that the spearhead will return to face Collingwood at Metricon Stadium.

“Unfortunately Tom didn't get up with his calf complaint,” Ashcroft told goldcoastfc.com.au.

“We gave him every opportunity to prove his fitness. We expect him to be back next weekend.”
