The Gold Coast SUNS held their annual Charity Open Day this week, welcoming over 30 Horizon’s partners and charity groups to Metricon Stadium.

The event is marked with special significance for key stakeholders alike, as it provides an opportunity to recognise the fantastic work achieved through the Gold Coast SUNS Horizon’s Program, which focuses on the club’ three key focus areas in youth homelessness, respect & responsibility (domestic violence) and the north growth corridor.

Living true to the club’s values of being Bold & Fresh, the club changed this year’s proceedings, instead providing program partners with an exclusive inner sanctum experience by hosting invited guests in the player’s change rooms.

Making the experience all the more special was the representation of the club’s six player ambassadors, with Zac Smith (DV Ambassador), Daniel Gorringe (DV Ambassador), Tom Lynch (YH Ambassador), Jack Hurchins (YH Ambassador), Charlie Dixon (NGC Ambassador) and Michael Rischitelli (NGC Ambassador) attending the open day.

City of Gold Coast, Deputy Mayor – Donna Gates, addressed guests during the breakfast and networking opportunity, while each of the club’s ten nominated charities were presented with a signed 2014 Gold Coast SUNS Guernsey, courtesy of their respective ambassador.
