Jarrod Harbrow has been charged by the Match Review Panel following the match day report laid against him during the Gold Coast’s round 15 match against Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium.

The AFL released its findings on Monday afternoon.

Jarrod Harbrow, Gold Coast Suns, has been charged with a Level Two Striking Offence (125 points, one-match sanction) for striking Luke Breust, Hawthorn, during the fourth quarter of the Round 15 match between the Gold Coast Suns and Hawthorn, played at Aurora Stadium on Saturday Jne 28, 2014.

In summary, due to a six-year good record, he can accept a reprimand and 70.31 points towards his future record with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Hawthorn Football Club, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two Offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has an existing six year good record, reducing the penalty by 10 per cent to 93.75 points points and a reprimand. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 70.31 points towards his future record and a reprimand.

The Gold Coast SUNS will have until 11am Tuesday to challenge or accept the Match Review Panel’s decision.
