Charlie Dixon will be looking to make an immediate impact after being named to make his return to AFL footy against North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

Dixon heads a list of three new inclusions in Coach Guy McKenna’s side to face the Kangaroos in what is shaping up as one of the most eagerly anticipated clashes at Metricon Stadium since the Club’s first official AFL Premiership match on the Gold Coast, just over two years ago.

GC SUNS General Manager Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft told goldcoastfc.com.au the return of Dixon after a number of weeks out with an ankle injury is a major inclusion for the Gold Coasters.

"Charlie is an extremely important player  for us and it fantastic to welcome him back into the senior side.

He has taken his footy to another level in 2013 and we think he is fit and ready to go this week," Ashcroft said.

Fan favourite Liam Patrick will also celebrate his first AFL match of the 2013 season after a number of blistering performances in the Club’s NEAFL team while Jack Hutchins also returns to the senior team.

The GC SUNS have omitted Daniel Gorringe  and Kyal Horsely while Brandon Matera has been sidelined for an extended period after  undergoing surgery to his left ankle.
