Geelong Cats midfielder Mitch Duncan said that the team is looking forward to bouncing back from last weekend’s loss when they face the Gold Coast SUNS on Saturday night.

“The mindset is a little bit different. You get in there and you want to work a little bit harder since we’ve had that loss” he told the media in a press conference on Wednesday.

With Gary Ablett in scintillating form, the Cats have spoken about putting some time into stopping him, with the role of taggers a hot topic at the moment.

"You probably can't (shut down) the little master. He's back in some good form.

"It's just about that team ethos of winning the ball first and not allowing them to have the footy."

Gold Coast SUNS coach Rodney Eade wasn’t overly concerned about any potential tag that may come Ablett’s way.

“He’s had a tag most of his career so I don’t think that’s going to be any issue with Gaz” Eade told the media in a press conference on Thursday.

There has been speculation this week that Cats midfielder Patrick Dangerfield would miss the game with injury, however Duncan declared that he was a certain starter.

"Yes, absolutely, 100 per cent," Duncan said, when asked if Dangerfield would play.

Eade and the SUNS have been preparing for Dangerfield to take to the field, and he spoke of how much the midfielder’s injury may have affected his game against Collingwood.

“I think it happens with players if they have a down day. We tend, with the big players, to say they’ve had a bad game because of injury but it’s just after factors” he said.

Forward Daniel Menzel was rested last week and is likely to return, while Scott Selwood strung together two VFL games and is pressing his case for selection to take on the SUNS.
