AFL Media's Michael Whiting gave SUNS TV an overview heading into Gold Coast's round 18 match with Fremantle.

The round two clash bettwen Gold Coast and Fremantle was obviously a great result. What can the Gold Coast take out of that win heading into round 18?

Yeah magnificent at the time particularily. It was only two rounds in, Fremantle was one of the premiership favourites

They hadn’t won a game in Perth and hadn’t beaten Fremantle at all, so it was a huge win at the time. Slick ball movement, it was quick play, it was very exiting.

Very different personel this time around for both team. How will that effect the game?

As Rodney Eade said in his press conference today you almost have to wipe the slate clean, because there is no Sandilands, Fyfe, Pavlich isn’t coming over, Ballantyne- there’s just so many new faces for Fremantle and as we know so many for the SUNS without their entire midfield. Not much we can take out of round two unfortunately into this game, I guess a lot of opportunities for young guys from both teams.

Can the young SUNS midfield step-up?

I think they’ll improve. They haven’t had to play with that midfield group this season yet so that one game should help the synergy and the chemistry in that quartet in the midfield.

Touk Miller’s taken his chance in the last couple of weeks. Matty Rosa comes back in. I think they’ll be better, Fremantle 's obviously found some of their guns as well.

I think the SUNS can match Fremantle in the midfield.

Tom Lynch passed the 50 goal mark last week and kicked five the last time he played the Dockers. How many do you think he’ll kick this week?

Doesn’t have a bad game does he. And he doesn’t seem to need to many opportunities. I don’t like putting numbers on things but I’d be surprised if he didn’t sort of get 5,6,7 or 8 opportunities. He’s such a difficult guy to stop. And with Peter Wright there as a great sidekick and a great foil to take another defender off him I think Lynchy could have a good day out.

Can the SUNS win their third one at home in a row?

Yeah I think they can. It’sgoing to be very tight, couple of young teams both hunry and a rare chance for both to get a win late in the season. I think the SUNS will win by a couple of goals.
