Coming off the bye, Gold Coast’s reserves team will travel south to take on the Sydney Swans in Newcastle for round nine of the NEAFL season.

The Swans accounted for the previously undefeated Sydney Uni in their last hitout and will provide a tough challenge for coach Stephen Daniel and his team.

Gold Coast will enter the game with ten AFL-listed players, however will be missing the likes of draftee Will Brodie, who will make his debut for the senior team.

Captain Keegan Brooksby, Matt Shaw and Josh Schoenfeld all return to the team after travelling to China as emergencies two weeks ago.

Another welcome addition to the team is Trent McKenzie, who returns from a hamstring injury.
