FOR the first time since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against North Melbourne last year, Seb Tape says he’s finally beginning to feel at home on the football field again.

“It’s been a tough year for me having come back from a few injuries, but I’m just trying to find my feet a little bit and continue to gain form down back,” he said.

“I’m trying to not look at stats too much, and just really get back to enjoying playing footy.”

Renowned by team mates for his courageous attack on the football, Tape is considered one of the most intangible pieces to the SUNS future premiership hopes.

But after suffering such a significant setback in 2012, Tape conceded it hadn’t been easy adjusting to senior football again.

“I think my first couple of games back I sort of just had a shock adjusting back into the system,” Tape said.

“I sort of noticed that teams have improved a lot and we are owning more of the ball this year which is great for us defenders.”

“We’re playing more of a GC SUNS brand of football and I’m really enjoying that aspect.”

With a three-week suspension cloud looming over fellow body crasher Campbell Brown, Tape remains hopeful that the Gold Coaster is able to contest Match Review Panel charge when the AFL Tribunal meets tonight.

If unsuccessful, Tape said a door of opportunity would open for one of his fellow team mates that are knocking for a senior recall.

“He’s a great leader and provides a great presence on the field for our team,” Tape said.

“But at the same time it’d be great for another young gun to come in and get an opportunity and further develop our team.”
