Jarryd Lyons was voted the best Gold Coast player for the second consecutive week after Saturday’s win over North Melbourne.

He followed up last week’s efforts against the Saints with a perfect ten from the coaches after a stellar performance which saw him gather 39 disposals.

The midfielder was important in the clinches, with 23 contested possessions and ten clearances as he did a lot of the grunt work.

There was a welcome return to form for captain Tom Lynch (eight votes), who bagged five goals as he stamped his authority on the game.

SUNS fans would have been delighted to see Lynch back to his usual self, roaming all over Metricon Stadium to gather 20 disposals and eight marks.

Playing predominantly as a forward, Jack Martin polled four votes for his contribution of three goal assists, six tackles and 22 disposals.

He was particularly influential in the first half, kicking two spectacular goals from the boundary line.

In game 300, Gary Ablett (three votes) wasn’t the most dominant midfielder on the ground, however he lifted in the final quarter when the game was on the line.

The Little Master finished the game with 37 disposals, ten clearances and four tackles.

Midfielder David Swallow polled one vote for a performance which included 27 disposals and nine clearances.
