Two Gold Coast SUNS AFLW players have been recognised for their efforts throughout the 2021 QAFLW season.

Playing for Coolangatta Tweed, forward Brittany Perry took out the QAFLW Mark of the Year award with a high-flying grab inside 50.

She kicked nine goals in her seven games for the Bluebirds in 2021.

After missing the majority of the AFLW season, Ellie Hampson returned to play for Bond University in the QAFLW and earned selection in the midfield of the QAFLW Team of the Year.

Hampson played 10 games for the Bullsharks, kicking five goals and being named amongst the best players on eight occasions.

The SUNS are set to begin AFLW pre-season in the coming weeks, with the 2022 NAB AFLW season to commence on the weekend of January 6-9.
