SUNS captain David Swallow added to his previous success at Club Champion night with a third place in 2021.

The 28-year-old was back to his consistent best in season 2021.

Playing all over the ground in 2021, the SUNS Life Member approached each game with a team-first mentality.

As a previous Club Champion in 2014 and runner-up in 2019 and 2017, Swallow has been a consistent performer for a number of years.

He has also played a big role on and off-field in shaping the culture of a young SUNS outfit.

His lead-by-example style was a standout quality of his 2021 season.

Swallow polled 352 votes across 21 games just beating out Sam Collins by 2 votes.

Game of the year

Swallow’s game of the year came in a hard-fought win over GWS.

He had 27 disposals, with 11 being contested possessions, nine tackles and a goal to lead from the front in a win over the eventual semi-finalists.
