PETER Huth is getting ready to head off on the AFL trip of a lifetime, after with the Mermaid Beach resident struck gold at Metricon Stadium, beating 150 finalists in the pursuit of the Gold Coast Bulletin and Gold Coast SUNS golden ticket Grand Final competition.

The 34-year-old tradesman found the lucky golden ticket on the eastern wing of Metricon Stadium and could barely hold back tears when informed he had would enjoy sideline seats at the 2013 AFL Grand Final this Saturday.

Huth wins 2x tickets to the biggest sporting event on the Australian sporting calendar, the Toyota AFL Grand Final with the prize also including return flights thanks to Virgin Australia and 2 nights’ accommodation at the Mantra Russell, located in the heart of Melbourne.

With just over 100,000 screaming fans from across the country expected to attend the 2013 season decider between Hawthorn and Fremantle, Huth is understandably very excited about boarding the flight south.

“I have been a Geelong supporter my entire life and it would have been amazing to see them play,” said Huth

“But any Grand Final game will always be amazing.”

After adopting the Gold Coast as his second AFL team, Huth is confident the boys in red will be finals bound in 2014 and competing for a Premiership in the not too distant future.

“Hopefully, we will see the SUNS there in a couple of years,” he said.

“People here would love to see that.”
