The Gold Coast SUNS will begin their inaugural VFL finals campaign against Box Hill Hawks on Sunday in front of a home Metricon Stadium crowd.

The game has been scheduled for Sunday 28 August with first bounce at 6:05pm and entry is free for all spectators.

Members and fans will also be able to see the 2022 VFL Frosty Miller Medallist in action on home turf, after Chris Burgess was recognised as the league’s leading goal scorer for the home and away season.

Burgess kicked 52 goals throughout the season, averaging over 3 majors in each match, beating out Fergus Greene from the opposing Hawks side who finished with 49 goals.

The SUNS finished the season in fifth placed, with 12 wins, six losses for the year, meanwhile Box Hill sit eighth on 11 wins – showing how tightly contested the VFL season was in 2022.

Select bays of Metricon Stadium will be open to the public with entry via Gate 6.

Parking will be free for attendees in the red carpark next to the stadium, with limited food and beverage available for purchase at the venue.

The match will also be streamed live across https://www.afl.com.au/vfl/fixture.
