The Gold Coast SUNS have locked in its team to face North Melbourne in Saturday’s AFLW Round 1 clash in Hobart.

As reported earlier, the SUNS will blood three AFLW debutants with off-season recruits Jasmyn Smith, Georgia Clayden and Claire Ransom all earning spot in Cameron Joyce’s team for the season opener.

They will be joined by a pair of club debutants in Tahlia Meyer and Ashlee Atkins who have been named at half-forward and on the wing respectively.

Season Six Club Champion Alison Drennan features in a strong SUNS midfield alongside Lauren Bella, Jamie Stanton and Claudia Whitfort.

Charlie Rowbottom has been named inside forward 50, as has Jac Dupuy who will be looking to continue her sparkling pre-season form against the Kangaroos.
