Thousands of vulnerable residents across the Gold Coast and South-East Queensland will receive a sweet surprise this Easter thanks to the RizeUp Easter Appeal.

RizeUp, the SUNS Major Charity Partner, are calling on the Gold Coast community to assist in easing the burden for many parents and care givers by donating the gift of happiness, through chocolate!

While providing an Easter gift is a small gesture, RizeUp CEO and founder Nicolle Edwards says that gesture can have a profound impact on those suffering as a result of domestic and family violence.

“Families supported by the RizeUp Easter Appeal have faced the darkest that humanity has to offer, with domestic and family violence impacting hundreds of Gold Coast families. Yet despite this, we also see the very best of humanity each year, with residents digging deep to support their friends in crisis,” Edwards said.

“The Gold Coast SUNS are renowned for their mateship and community spirit, so partnering with our SUNS is always wonderful because we know this will drive a bumper Easter.

“I am confident there will be many chocolatey smiles this Easter Sunday.”

The Gold Coast SUNS have played in a role in supporting RizeUp since 2015, including as the club’s Major Charity Partner since 2020, with SUNS players, coaches and staff to play their part with donations to be made throughout the Easter Appeal.

The Easter Appeal runs until Friday, March 24 with the Austworld Centre (Level 1, Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, 296 Nerang Broadbeach Rd) listed as an official collection point for donations. A full list of collection points can be viewed on the RizeUp Australia website.
