The Gold Coast SUNS will not rely on their good record at the SCG this weekend as they travel down to Sydney to face the Swans on Saturday afternoon at 1:45pm.

The SUNS went down to Adelaide last week although have been victorious three of the past four times at the SCG, a statistic that captain, Jarrod Witts hopes to improve upon this weekend.

“We will put last week behind us and move forward to Sydney,” Witts said.

“We had a bit of a look at what they do this morning and had a training session around a few things that we can implement.

“We have played well down there in the past and will be looking for another good outing.”

The 162-game captain is familiar with the roller-coaster ride that playing AFL brings and understands that success must be earned.

The record in Sydney will not get the Suns over the line according to Witts.

“That’s a thing of the past now and we have got to go and do it again.

“Nothing is given to you, we have got to go and earn that,” Witts added.

Witts reiterated interim coach, Steven King’s statement earlier in the week emphasising that there is still plenty to play for in the final three games of the season.

“We still feel like there is a lot to play for,” he said.

“We are looking to get the best finish we have had as a footy club.”

First bounce is 1:45pm at the SCG. If you can’t get to the game, the match will be broadcasted on Fox Footy, Kayo and the seven network (check your local guides).
