There are updates on a number of players in this week’s QScan Injury Update ahead of Saturday’s AFLW practice match against the Brisbane Lions at Brighton Homes Arena.
Season Seven debutant Kaylee Kimber is set for a stint on the sidelines with a foot injury.
“Kaylee has suffered a stress fracture in her second metatarsal and is expected to be unavailable for an extended period,” GC SUNS AFLW Head Physiotherapist Jasmine Herlihy said.
Key defender Lauren Ahrens was unavailable for Saturday’s match simulation against the Swans but could be in contention to face the Lions on Saturday.
“Lauren has been gradually re-loaded following a toe complaint. We are anticipating she will be available for selection this weekend,” Herlihy added.
The SUNS open its 2023 AFLW campaign against Carlton at IKON Park on Saturday, September 2.
