With increasing female engagement in the engineering industry at the core of its mission, GANDEN Engineers and Project Managers’ has now extended its commitment to female football on the Gold Coast as the GC SUNS AFLW Coaches Partner for 2023.

GANDEN, who joined forces with the club at the end of 2021, will again feature on the back of the AFLW guernsey through until the end of the 2025 season with the organisation’s branding now to also be seen across SUNS coaching apparel, interchange bench and coach’s box.

GANDEN Engineers and Project Managers provides Process, Mechanical, Civil and Structural Engineering services to the Water Industry, Mining Industry and Industrial Sector with a vision to pave the way for women in traditionally male-dominated industries.

GC SUNS General Manager – Commercial Andrew Thomas says it’s fantastic to extend its partnership with the Gold Coast-based organisation.

“GANDEN has been a strong supporter of our AFLW program over the last two seasons and we’re thrilled to be continuing and building upon that partnership,” Thomas said.

“Increasing female engagement in the engineering industry is a key pillar of GANDEN’s mission and their support continues to pave the way and provide opportunities for women to reach the elite level in our sport.”

The announcement comes on the back of record numbers for female football participation in Queensland with GANDEN striving for similar increased engagement in the engineering industry.

Despite just 13% of the Australian engineering workforce being female, GANDEN CEO Geraldine Nutt is proud of the fact that women make up 22% of the organisation’s workforce, including 33% of new employees over the last two years.

“GANDEN is proud to be an Official Partner of the Gold Coast SUNS and the AFLW Coaches Partner for 2023,” Nutt said.

“It’s great to have two organisations with similar objectives, encouraging higher female participation in traditionally male-dominated industries.”

“We look forward to supporting the SUNS this season in what should hopefully be a great season on-field.”
