The AFL has today confirmed the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership fixture.
Kickstarting the season with an Opening Round home clash against Richmond, the SUNS will also host Adelaide in Round 1 at Heritage Bank Stadium the following weekend.
Home matches at Heritage Bank Stadium to follow this are Round 5 v Hawthorn (Saturday April 13) and Round 7 v West Coast (Sunday April 28).
As announced earlier in the week, the SUNS will then host North Melbourne and Geelong in back-to-back Rounds at TIO Stadium in Darwin (Rounds 9 & 10).
Gold Coast will have five home matches in the second half of the season at Heritage Bank Stadium against Essendon (Round 12), Collingwood (Round 16), Port Adelaide (Round 18), Brisbane (Round 20) and Melbourne (Round 23).
GC SUNS Chief Executive Mark Evans said the club was pleased with the 2024 fixture.
“It’s unbelievably exciting for SUNS fans with the fixture for next year which is a terrific way to kick off the Damien Hardwick era.
“The Coast will come alive with the fact they can see Damien Hardwick’s new-look Gold Coast SUNS here for two weeks in a row, and particularly to start with Richmond, such a powerhouse club.
“It’s a really strong fixture with some powerhouse teams and lots of great games here at Heritage Bank Stadium.
“I’d ask all of our members to come and support the SUNS, grab your membership now and really get behind us for 2024.”
Similar to previous years, the AFL has kept all fixtures from Round 16 as “floating”, not confirming dates or times to allow for optimal fixturing in the back half of the season.
The SUNS have three free-to-air matches on Channel 7 in the first 16 Rounds – Round 5 v Hawthorn, Round 10 v Geelong and Round 13 v St Kilda.
The club has a bye in Round 3 and Round 14.
