Northern Territory young gun Annabel Kievit has become the latest Territorian to join the Gold Coast SUNS following the AFL Draft.

The SUNS selected Kievit with Pick 52 on Monday night as the 18-year-old joins a growing list of Top End talent to call the Gold Coast home.

Kievit’s athleticism and kick penetration sets her aside from the crowd, also boasting a quick turn of speed and ability to impact contests both in the air and on the ground.

Standing at 176cm tall, her versatility has long been on display in the Territory having starred in recent seasons for NTFL outfit Waratah.

Kievit previously represented the SUNS Academy in the Under 17 National Championships.

“We’ve been extremely impressed with Annabel’s development and even more excited about her potential,” GC SUNS Head of Women’s Football Fiona Sessarago said.

“Her ability to impact the game aerially but on the ground as well provides so many options for our side.

Kievit is the second Territorian on the SUNS AFLW list alongside 2021 draftee Ashanti Bush. The club’s AFL and AFLW lists how include nine players with links to the Territory.
