GC SUNS fans will have the opportunity to see their AFLW side in pre-season action twice right here in South-East Queensland.

The AFL has today announced the schedule for AFLW Practice Matches and Match Simulation Trainings.

Practice Matches will run across Saturday 2 August and Sunday 3 August, with Match Simulation Training taking place the week prior between Friday 25 July and Saturday 26

July. The Practice Matches will be the first chance for SUNS fans to get a glimpse of their side for 2025 ahead of the Thursday, August 14 season opener in Perth against the West Coast Eagles.

The SUNS will travel up the M1 to face the Brisbane Lions in match simulation at Brighton Homes Arena on Friday, July 25.

Rhyce Shaw’s side will then feature as part of a triple header at People First Stadium on Saturday, August 2, hosting Geelong in a practice match under lights following the club’s AFL & VFL matches against Richmond earlier in the day.

Details on ticketing and entry for both matches will be confirmed at a later date.
