The Gold Coast SUNS have completed a trade with St Kilda for utility Sam Flanders.

The trade sees the SUNS receive selection 7 in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

“Given Sam was a contracted player that we valued highly, we wanted to ensure that any trade involving Sam provided significant value to our football club and was in line with our strategy,” Gold Coast SUNS General Manager of Player Talent and Strategy Craig Cameron said.

“We would like to thank Sam for all he has given this club over the past six seasons.”

Since his debut in 2020, Flanders played a total of 89 games for the Gold Coast and had a breakout campaign in 2024.

The Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period continues until next Wednesday.
