Several StreetSmarts SUNS prospects have been named among the top 10 at the 2025 Telstra AFL and AFLW Draft Combine in Melbourne.
Among the highlights of this year’s Telstra AFLW Draft Combine was home-grown talent Alannah Welsh running the second-fastest time produced in the 2km time trial (7:07), just five seconds behind the record set by Sarah Poustie last year.
Trailing just seconds behind Welsh at the AIA Centre, were fellow StreetSmart SUNS Mikayla Nurse (7:18) and Georja Davies (7:43).
Additional testing was held at the State Netball and Hockey Centre, with Gold Coast’s emerging talents ranking among the top 10 in all categories of testing including the 20m sprint, agility test standing vertical jump and running vertical jump.
In the AFL Draft Combine, local talents Zeke Uwland and Beau Addinsall plus StreetSmarts SUNS Academy player of the year Koby Coulson also excelled in several testing components, with all three among the top 10 in the running vertical jump.
On return to People First Stadium, Welsh, Nurse and Davies, along with fellow StreetSmart SUNS and Draft Combine participants Sunny Lappin and Rhianna Ingram, were presented with their U18 All Australian certificates, earned following their outstanding performances across the 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships.
