Key position prospect Kalani White has become the latest StreetSmarts SUNS Academy talent to earn selection at the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

White, who has ties to Melbourne through his father Jeff who played 236 games in the red and blue, was drafted to the Demons ahead of Friday’s Rookie Draft.

White has featured across the last two years at Coates Talent League level for the Academy, all representing the Allies at the Under 18 National Championships in both years and making his VFL debut for the Casey Demons in 2025.

White is one of six StreetSmarts SUNS Academy graduates selected at this year’s Telstra AFL Draft, joining Zeke Uwland, Dylan Patterson, Jai Murray, Beau Addinsall and Koby Coulson.

“Congratulations to all our Academy graduates selected at this year’s AFL Draft,” Academy Manager Kath Newman said.

“It’s a testament to the years of commitment and sacrifice not only by these players, but their families and everyone involved in their journeys.”
