Leo Lombard has taken out his first SUNS 2km time trial on the club’s first day of pre-season for first to fourth year players.

The StreetSmarts SUNS Academy graduate ran strongly to kickstart his second pre-season on the list, finishing fast to be one of more than half a dozen players to record personal bests.

Lombard edged out winger Sam Clohesy who was closely followed by draftee pair Beau Addinsall and Zeke Uwland, who both joined the club during last week’s Telstra AFL Draft.

Palm Beach Currumbin pair Will Graham and Jed Walter were next across the line, finishing side-by-side.

The time trial, held at Griffith University on Monday morning, preceded a sweltering first session back at the Austworld Centre.
