The Gold Coast SUNS have completed an exchange of Telstra AFLW Draft picks with Melbourne.

The SUNS will receive Pick 17 and Pick 27 in this year’s draft while sending Pick 14 and a future second round selection to the Demons in return.

Gold Coast SUNS AFLW Recruiting Officer Thomas Waldron says the trade strengthens the SUNS’ 2025 draft hand, in line with the club’s strategy.

“We’ve been able to bolster our suite of selections with the addition of a second round selection, whilst also maintaining our position in the first round of this year’s Draft,” Waldron said.

The SUNS currently hold Picks 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 27 and 32 heading into the Telstra AFLW Draft on Monday, December 15.

Gold Coast also secured the services of three-time premiership player Anne Hatchard through a trade completed with the Adelaide Crows on Sunday evening.

The AFLW Trade Period continues until Wednesday, December 10.
