The Gold Coast SUNS are thrilled to welcome Lily Quigley to the SUNS list on the eve of AFLW pre-season.
The SUNS acquired the services of the dashing winger with selection one in the inaugural AFLW Pre-season Draft on Monday night.
The 18-year-old spent time in the GWS Giants Academy before relocating to the Sunshine State and has since kicked off an impressive 2026 Talent League campaign as an over-ager with the Brisbane Lions Academy.
Quigley is a highly touted cross-code athlete having represented Australia in both Oztag and Touch Football in recent years and is set to bring her elite speed and lateral movement to the Gold Coast.
The 161-cm talent has a strong work rate and ability to get contest to contest with an attacking presence, clean skills and forward game sense.
“We’re excited to welcome Lily to the Gold Coast SUNS,” GC SUNS General Manager of Women’s Football Erin Phillips said.
“We’ve been following Lily’s journey and development and are delighted to see her earn an opportunity at the highest level.
“Besides her speed, athleticism and natural football smarts, she is a terrific person who will be a fantastic addition to our program and we’re looking forward to her continuing to develop at our club.”
Quigley’s addition completes the SUNS 32-player list. She will join her new teammates later this month in preparation for the 2026 NAB AFLW season.
The Pre-Season Draft provides an opportunity for clubs with list spots available to add talent whom were nominated but not selected in the 2025 National Draft, with the rationale being that all 18 clubs had prior opportunity to pick that player.
