The Gold Coast SUNS today announced an extension of the club’s longstanding partnership with Metricon Homes.

Australia’s largest national home-builder has extended their partnership with the club for a further four years until the end of 2022.

GC SUNS CEO Mark Evans made the official announcement ahead of the club’s first home game of the 2019 AFL Toyota Premiership Season at Metricon Stadium.

“In the week leading into our first home game of the season, it’s exciting to be able to announce an extension to an eight year partnership between the SUNS and Metricon Homes,” Evans said.

“Metricon Homes have supported us since the club’s inception and are committed to not only helping the Gold Coast SUNS grow, but AFL in Queensland.

“Metricon Stadium has become synonymous throughout the Gold Coast as a fantastic community asset, and throughout the country as an industry leading sporting precinct.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Metricon to utilise the precinct to host a wide range of events for the Gold Coast.”

The renewal continues the alignment of Metricon’s sponsorship commitments with the recreational activities its customers passionately support and cements the Gold Coast’s importance to the broader AFL landscape.

“Sport, and AFL, in particular, transcends so many cultures and communities,” said Jason Biasin, Metricon’s Gold Coast-based director.

“It’s part of Australia’s DNA. Metricon is proud to have been side-by-side with the SUNS since 2011, forging a grass-roots partnership that promotes the community and family connections synonymous with both of our brands,” Mr Biasin added.

The partnership with Metricon continues recent announcements at the SUNS, including the re-signings of David Swallow, Jarrod Witts, Touk Miller, the extension of major support partner, Austworld and the addition of Coaches Partner, @realty.

Metricon will retain the naming rights to Metricon Stadium along with holding the exclusive rights as the club’s official residential construction partner.

In partnership with the SUNS, Metricon have worked to enhance the matchday experience for GC SUNS Members and fans.

Ahead of the 2019 season, Metricon have built a new double story activation site to be known as ‘The Terrace’. The Terrace will be utilised as an entertainment outlet for Metricon clients and contractors as well as providing a beautiful home for members and fans attending the stadium.
