After being a late-out for the Round 5 match against Adelaide, Anthony Miles is a chance to return to action this week for the SUNS.

Miles was recovering from a corked calf suffered in Round 4 against Carlton.

Gold Coast Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Alpha Sport Injury Update the midfielder had returned to training but remained a test for QClash 17 this Saturday.

“Milesy unfortunately didn’t get up for the game on the weekend,” Bull said.

“He’s run today, will aim to train fully on Thursday and hopefully be available for selection this week.”

Callum Ah Chee also suffered an injury in the NEAFL on the weekend and will be sidelined for at least a month.

“Cal suffered a quad injury in the NEAFL game on the weekend,” Bull said.

“Unfortunately that will see him missing four to five weeks we think of football at this stage.”

After missing the match against Adelaide with concussion, Wil Powell is showing signs of progress but still remains under close observation.

“Wil’s improving, he’s running around today and had a run yesterday as well,” Bull said.

“He’ll continue to do a little bit more physical activity as we go and we’ll just monitor him really closely.”

Jordan Murdoch came off the ground on the weekend with a hand injury but Bull said he was confident the 27-year-old would be fit to play this weekend.

“Jordan’s got a lot of soft tissue swelling and bruising but we’re hopeful he will be able to train with that on Thursday and be available as well,” he said.

Sam Fletcher has sustained an injury to his quad at training and will also miss the next 4-5 weeks.

In positive news, Brayden Crossley has completed his rehab program on his injured hamstring and will be fit to play in the NEAFL this weekend.

“Crossley’s had a couple of weeks in rehab now and ticked all his boxes and done really well.

“The aim for him is to train on Thursday as well and be available for selection this weekend too.”
