SUNS Academy Announces 2026 15s Emerging Talent Squad
The StreetSmarts SUNS Academy is proud to announce the 2026 15s Emerging Talent Squad (ETS), recognising a group of the region’s most promising young footballers progressing through the Academy pathway.
Selection into the ETS reflects strong development across the 2025–2026 season, with players identified through HUB programs, community football, school competitions and representative experiences. The program sits within the DEVELOP phase of the Academy model, providing a clear step up into a more challenging, higher-performing environment.
The ETS program is designed to accelerate each athlete’s growth through:
- Advanced technical and tactical development
- Improved game sense and decision making
- Stronger personal habits aligned to SUNS Academy values
Players will take part in weekly training, education sessions and match opportunities at the SUNS Academy Centre of Excellence, with the program officially launching with a Player & Parent Information Session in July.
A key highlight of the program will be the opportunity for selected players to represent the SUNS Academy at the Queensland 15s Development Carnival in Maroochydore this September, competing against the Lions and other Academies across the state.
The SUNS Academy remains committed to a long-term, development-first approach, supporting players to belong, grow and achieve within a connected and challenging environment.
