Defender Mac Andrew has become the Gold Coast SUNS’ first three-time AFL Players’ Association 22Under22 team member.

The 22-year-old was today selected in the fan-selected side for the third consecutive season, named on the interchange.

He surpasses several current and previous SUNS to have earned two selections, including captain Noah Anderson (2022, 2023) and Ben King (2020, 2021).

Andrew has had a career-best season as a key cog in Damien Hardwick’s defence. Throughout 23 games, he ranks inside the top 5 in the AFL for intercept possessions - alongside vice-captain Sam Collins - with the pair also sitting equal second in the league for most intercept marks.

Now in his fifth season, Andrew has become a mainstay in the SUNS lineup, missing just the one match across the past two seasons.

He has featured in all 22 SUNS matches to date in 2026 and is in contention for his 88th match in SUNS colours at Marvel Stadium against the Saints on Thursday night.
