The Gold Coast SUNS will make at least one change to take on Geelong at People First Stadium this Sunday with senior SUN Lily Mithen ruled out with a calf injury.
Rhyce Shaw has named an extended 24-player squad for the match, which will be trimmed to a final 21 players on Friday evening.
Joining the squad and in to contention to play their first match of the season are young SUNS Ellie Veerhuis and Tara Harrington.
StreetSmarts SUNS Academy products Mia Salisbury and Dekota Baron will also look at returning to the side after being named as an emergency and omitted in Round 2, respectively.
The SUNS will be chasing its second win of the season this weekend, in what will be the first time the SUNS have faced the Cats since 2024.
