The Gold Coast SUNS are pleased to announce the signing of Sally Riley as an AFLW free agent. 

Riley has been joint vice-captain of the Crows since the side’s inception and joins the SUNS after playing 14 games in three seasons. 

Riley was drafted by the Crows from the Northern Territory and played in the club’s 2017 AFLW premiership.

The 172cm, inside midfielder played four games in 2019 where she averaged eight disposals.

Gold Coast’s Head of Women’s Football Fiona McLarty said Riley would add important experience to the SUNS’ list.

“We’re extremely excited to welcome Sally to the club,” McLarty said.

“Having played in an AFLW premiership side, we know Sally will be able to help drive the standards needed for a successful team, throughout our group playing group.

“She also brings with her fantastic leadership qualities which we look forward to helping her develop further.”

Riley’s signature brings Gold Coast’s AFLW list to a total of 16.
