One of the biggest sporting stories in recent memory will be front and centre in the next edition of Alpha Magazine when high profile Gold Coast SUNS recruit Karmichael Hunt appears on the cover.

It’s the first time ever an AFL player has appeared on the cover of the Queensland edition of Australia’s number one sports magazine

The shoot accompanies a revealing interview by leading sportswriter Dan Koch during which Hunt discusses the reasons for his shift from rugby league and rugby union to AFL, his ruthless determination to make it work and his burning ambition to be there when the AFL’s newest club lines up against Carlton for it’s first AFL Premiership game at the Gabba on April 2, 2011.

Gold Coast SUNS Brand Executive, Tayah Bot was behind the scenes at the cover shoot.

“The idea behind the shoot was to focus in on Karmichael being at the business end of what has been a monumental journey for him,” she said.

“People talk about how Karmichael’s been such an asset off-field for the club and it’s hard to argue how influential he’s been when we’re already approaching the 8000 member mark.”

“Fact is, though, first and foremost he’s an incredibly talented sportsman, and he’s working harder than anyone to be the best he can be.”

“It’s common knowledge he’s as fit as he’s ever been, so the gist of the shoot was to highlight how he’s done all the work and now he’s just jumping out of his skin to get out there an play.”

Hunt’s photographs and the accompanying story will hit newsagents from 12th January.
