The SUNS have had two players selected in the womens.afl Team of the Week, with Jade Pregelj and Kalinda Howarth getting the nod in Round 5.

Pregelj continued her fine season at full-back, finishing with 16 disposals (10 contested), seven rebound 50’s and 372 metres gained.

Her defensive efforts were also to be commended, standing to save some certain goals with defensive pressure.

Howarth set the ground alight in Mackay, racking up 15 disposals in the first half alone.

She finished with 11 contested possessions playing the forward line and a goal assist with three inside 50’s.

This is Howarth’s second time being named in the Team of the Week and Pregelj’s maiden appearance.

The Team of the Week is selected to mirror the All Australian side: five defenders, six midfielders (including a ruck), five forwards and five interchange players.

Like the All Australian team, it has players selected in general categories, rather than in traditional positions.
