Last Week’s Events

Michael Rischitelli (MID, $449,000) continued his good start to the year with 35 touches and a goal to score a team high 112. Dion Prestia (MID, $564,000) overcame some close attention from Maverick Weller to kick a couple of goal and score a solid 97. Harley Bennell  (FWD/MID, $472,000) scored 87 from his 25 touches, which could have been a ton had he kicked straight after recording one goal three. Unfortunately future Fantasy Hall of Famer Gary Ablett (MID, $603,000) was again well held to 21 touches and two marks for a score of just 70. The best news to come out of the game was the impressive form of Adam Saad (DEF/MID, $179,000) who had 80 from 21 possessions.

On The Radar

If you didn’t start the season with Saad, it is worth bringing him in this week to ensure you don’t miss the boat completely. Not only is he set to become one of the year’s best cash cows with a current break-even of -25, but with many coaches back lines miss firing, he is putting his hand up for a starting spot on the ground. On a sour note, If you own Ablett, I think it is best to trade him out, with the intention of picking him back up on the cheap later in the year when he is back to his best. He has currently dropped $72,000 and his break-even 165 suggest he is set to drop a lot further.

Top 5 Scorers

  • Michael Rischitelli 112
  • Dion Prestia 97
  • Harley Bennell 87
  • David Swallow 84
  • Jack Martin 81

What’s Coming up?

Hopefully I am wrong and Ablett will return to his best this week as he has a great history against his former club the Cats. Last time they met he scored 137 from 33 touches with included 8 tackles (an area he has struggles with this year, coming back from shoulder surgery). Dion Prestia looks set to continue his good form after scoring 132 on them last year, but keep your eye on Bennell, he was sensational last time they met with six goals and 155 points.
